Lesser known LGBTQ+ identities

Sapphic : Sapphic is a term used to define women loving women (wlw). It does not only includes lesbian women but also includes other sexual orientations such as pansexual, bisexual, queer, and etc. A sapphic woman may not only love women but also other genders.


Demi-girl : A demi-girl is a person who uses the pronouns she/they. Those who identify as this will prefer being referred to as both pronouns and not only she or they. They are not “confused”, “indecisive”, or “in between two things”. Demi-girl is a full gender identity.


Demi-boys : The male equivalent to demi-girl is considered demi-boy. A demi-boy is described as someone who relatively identifies as a man or boy. They prefer being referred to with both pronouns, he/they and not only one. Doing so can help them feel validated and accepted.


Demisexual : Being demisexual is having little or no capacity to experience sexual attraction until a strong romantic connection is formed with someone. Demisexual individuals can have different romantic attractions such as heteroromantic, panromantic, biromantic etc.



Genderqueer : Genderqueer is a gender identity that is build around the term, “queer”. It also considered an umbrella term for many gender non-conforming or non-binary identities( e.g., agender, bigender, genderfluid, etc )
